On vacation this week I happened to be in a city with Rite Aid stores and managed to check out some CQ polishes. They’re made by the same company that makes Petites and Chameleons. The only two that really caught my eye were 544 Idyllic and 421 Silver Taupe. The polishes were fairly inexpensive at $2.99 from Rite Aid and the packaging feels pretty deluxe for the price. The glass bottles are nice shape and with the metal covered caps it doesn’t feel as flimsy as a lot of other drugstore polish.
Here are swatches of Silver Taupe. I love the color and finish on this one. The formula is very sheer but I like the effect. This photo is of 3 thin coats without base coat or top coat. You can still see the nail line a bit- I think the photo makes it look more sheer than it seems most of the time I’d say depending on the angle it usually looks like the index or middle finger in terms of shimmer and sheerness.
The closest color I can find in my polish drawers is OPIs Over the Taupe but on the nail that one seems to look yellower than in the bottle and not so great against my skintone. EDIT – found a better comparison – it matches the base of Butter London’s All Hail the Queen.

Never heard of this brand! I like the colors you picked!
I love these but sadly I think they’re sold only at Rite Aid and there aren’t any here. I’m wearing Idyllic now and the color shift is gorgeous. Depending on light source and angle it can look like plum to orange-brown bronze.
